More reading before devotion this evening led me to see the word 'REST' in full colour, a brighter light. My renewed definition of rest is a spiritual review, rejuvenation of self. It's taking the time out to reconnect with God on a deeper level, ensuring that you have all you need (spiritually) to continue in His work, to continue this rocky road - life - remaining safely in His arms. Imagine, I learnt a lot about rest from a passage that said nothing about the Sabbath Rest but all the while I kept thinking that Sabbath Rest is probably supposed to be described this way,
"Come Rest Awhile" is the chapter that enlightened me. When we rest in God, "we must individually hear Him speaking to the heart... here alone can true rest be found." I love learning more about Jesus and the way He wishes my life to be. I know He wants true happiness for me, and I want that too!
I want true rest.
