A Day In My Life Journal Entries | Reconnecting | Part 2 | Christ Like

Reconnecting | Part 2 | Christ Like
Date: 05.05.2013

Though I have a final exam in the next two days, I've been reading a lot. In hopes of improving my spirituality and developing a closer relationship. I've just been clung to the Desire of Ages. I've just finished Chapter 37 and can't seem to put the book down. I'm learning a great deal and I whish to live like Christ did; not yielding to temptation, being slow to anger, being devoted to His mission, not being distracted by worldly pleasures, being humble, kind, obedient, persuasive, gentle, thoughtful, persistent, faithful, loving, motivational, inspirational, sought after, a leader, a friend, great listener, thinks before He speaks, before He answers. Christ's life, though full of hard times is the greatest example of how my life (and all of mankind) should and must be.

I'm slowly learning to listen to His voice and at present, He's clearly telling me to get rid of the things (physical objects, material things) that tempt me to sin; that separate me from Him. He also is telling me that my mind, my heart, must also be separated from my sin. I must see my sin as a plague that threatens to ruin and eat away at my flesh, spoiling it smelly, rotten; a demon that controls it. Yes Demon! I believe it's a demon - can't be anything else that would make me falter moments after a spiritual breakthrough.

Lord help me.

Thank God for Jesus and the story of His life that He's left with us to examine and imitate. Imitation may sound like a bad thing for many because they usually think - society thinks that an imitation is bogus, cheap, tacky, faulty, unfinished, useless, embarrassing, shameful. No one wants to be labeled an imitation. But as I examine Christ, I wish to imitate Him, no matter how people may see me, may judge me.
